How to become a lacrosse official

If you are interested in becoming an official for the sport of lacrosse, please contact our head of recruiting, Mike Alsobrooks, at recruiter@txloa.net no later than August 31st of each year.  The pre-season training usually occurs in the fall, and observations will occur at the pre-season tournaments held in November-January.   The regular season starts in February and runs through the end of April each year, which is then followed by playoffs in May.  If you are not sure if you want to officiate lacrosse, please watch the following one-minute Recruitment Video developed by USA Lacrosse.  You can also watch a two-minute lacrosse video filmed by Gordon Corsetti while wearing a GoPro camera while officiating a lacrosse game, which will give you a feel for what it is like to be a lacrosse official out on the field during live action.  To become a lacrosse official, please follow the steps below.  You can perform step #3 first, if you want to make contact with TXLOA and be able to ask questions.
